BLUNDERING transport bosses have wasted hundreds of pounds putting a shelter on a stretch of road where there are no bus services.
On Monday workman installed a shelter on Wakefield Road near Barnsley Golf Club at Staincross.
But the last bus to go along that route, the X33, was withdrawn at Christmas and a sign on the stop states it is out of use.
The Chronicle alerted South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive to the mistake on Wednesday and it was taken down later that day.
