THEY are only four years old - but that didn't stop little Joseph Storey and Millie Lees conquering England's highest peak.

Armed with several packed lunches each and plenty of sweet treats, the pals from Penistone walked and climbed for four hours to reach the summit of Scafell Pike, 978 metres above sea level.

"We are two fit and active families so Joseph and Millie had already been on lots of walks with us," said Joseph's dad Lee who has been Millie's dad Robert's friend since they were 12.

"Last year we climbed Lingmell in the Lake District which is just over 800 metres high so they were determined to complete Scafell."
