A WINDOW manufacturer started in a Barnsley garage 50 years ago is celebrating its birthday with a party for hundreds of staff, past and present.
Sash UK, which was set up by two school friends in 1965 in a garage in Brierley, now has nearly 200 staff and a turnover topping £20m.
The company makes windows, doors, conservatories and decking at its factory at Park Springs, Grimethorpe. Sash UK is one of the biggest manufacturers in the country, with more than 2,500 windows and 250 doors made each week at the 112,000 sq ft factory.
