POLICE have warned of a crime spree in the rural area around Penistone in recent weeks, with numbers of burglaries rising to double the number officers would normally expect to see.
During June there were ten burglaries at 'other premises' which can include commercial premises and garden sheds, with five of those affecting farms at widespread locations in the area.
