A GROUP of drunks attacked a man on a train in Barnsley railway station.
British Transport Police are appealing for help from the public after the man was was harassed and assaulted by a group of men.
The incident happened on the 1.50pm Northern Rail service from Sheffield to Leeds on Saturday July 4.
Investigating officer PC Fiona Poyner said: "The victim was sitting at the back of the train on a folding seat when a group of five to six men, who had been drinking, boarded the service at Barnsley station at around 2.12pm.
"The victim was called names by the group before being hit on the back of the head by one of them."
The group of men, aged around 20 to 35, were wearing light green and navy polo shirts and left the train at Leeds.
