LUCY Spraggan is headlining a special gig to kick-start a new charity in memory of Barnsley teenager Daniel Binney.
Daniel, 19, died of cancer on June 19 after being told in April he was too ill to continue with treatment and that nothing more could be done for him.
His mum Trish Hall, of Queen's Drive, Dodworth, has decided to set up a charity called Dan's Helping Hand, which aims to help bereaved families of young adults with the unexpected expenses of funeral costs.
Former X-Factor star Lucy, 24, has agreed to play the gig on September 11 after forming a strong bond with the teenager and his family when she visited him in hospital earlier this year.
It is a ticket-only event, which can be bought by contacting Trish on 07985 630149. All proceeds will go to Dan's Helping Hand fund.
