The small army of supporters following Josh Wale Saturday night don't care one bit that Kell Brook is no longer headlining the bill.
For them, the Brampton featherweight, 27, was always the star attraction anyway.
Wale's band of followers will head in their hundreds to the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield. Wale, who is a window cleaner by trade, says he has earned his fanbase over the nine years he's spent as a professional and built up a record of won 18, lost seven, drawn two.
Wale faces Nottingham's Leigh Wood in a ten round contest that will act as an eliminator for the British title. The fight willl be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
ack if he'd been off, not the Sheffield welterweight world champ.
"It is a bit of a shame that he's off because it's a good night when he's on but if I'm honest my fans are going to watch me," Wale said.
"When I heard Kell was off my main concern was: 'would the show still be on?' it is, so I'm happy.
"People know what they get with me. Everybody who has got tickets off me are from West Melton, Wath, Brampton and Wombwell and I know and can name every single one of them and who their families are.
"I'm personal with them all and the sales have been unreal this time."
