THE long-awaited blanket ban on the buying and selling of legal highs is expected to come into force in April after a long campaign by Barnsley MP Dan Jarvis.
The news follows a meeting between Mr Jarvis and the Home Office Minister Mike Penning MP to discuss the progress of the legislation.
Mr Jarvis said he was still expecting Smokey Sam’s on Sheffield Road to cease selling legal highs by January 1, as agreed with the landlord of the premises, and that the landlord would move to evict if the business owner failed to comply.
