THE LIGHTS will go on again in Wombwell now funding has been found for them and a Christmas tree for the High Street.
In previous years, the Wombwell Christmas lights and Christmas tree have been organised and funded by the High Street Committee.
But after the committee disbanded last year, the future of the annual Christmas gala was thrown into doubt - with efforts to track down the lights used in previous years proving unsuccessful.
Now, the Wombwell councillors and the Wombwell Ward Alliance have secured funding for the Christmas Gala to go ahead. Santa Claus has also been recruited to appear in his grotto.
