ONE of Barnsley’s most famous sons has thrown his weight behind a campaign to encourage organ donation.
Celebrity journalist Sir Michael Parkinson is backing the ‘Be a Hero’ drive by Barnsley Hospital in the hope it will encourage more people across the town to sign the donor register.
Sir Michael said: “The response to the campaign has been extraordinary to date and I am thrilled to help raise awareness of organ donation in Barnsley and hopefully inspire as many residents as possible to sign the donor register.”
