A HOYLAND mum smashed her fund-raising target for the medical unit which helped her sick son by raising six times what she expected.
Wendy Cowlishaw, 28, of Hawshaw Bank, raised £2,592 for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, which supports the Children’s Heart Unit at Leeds.
Her son, Oliver Cowlishaw, four, was just six weeks old when he was diagnosed with a hole in his heart. After successful surgery in March at Leeds General Infirmary, Wendy wanted to give something back to the Fund. She decided to run the Leeds 10k, do a skydive and organise a raffle.
