BARNSLEY Hospital has raked in more than £1m over the last year in car parking charges.
An investigation found that in 2014/15 Barnsley Hospital made £1.12m.
Lorraine Christopher, the hospital’s director of estates and facilities, said the £1.12m figure was before costs for maintenance, lighting and security cameras had been taken into account.
She said the net profit for 2014/15 was £406,557 which was reinvested into improving facilities for patients.
