SOUTH Yorkshire Fire and Rescue is looking for young people to be part of its Prince’s Trust Team Programme in Barnsley.
The fire service is holding a taster day at Barnsley fire station on January 8 from 10am to 2pm, to generate interest for the first of its programmes which begins later that month.
The Prince’s Trust Team Programme is a 12-week personal development course, offering work experience, qualifications, practical skills, community projects and a residential week, working with 16 to 25-year-olds with an emphasis on people leaving care, young offenders, educational underachievers and the long term unemployed.
The fire service will use its own staff and experienced outdoor instructors to develop awareness and ability to work and deal with other people.
