A PENSIONER has hit out at thieves who stole her prized Christmas lights from outside her property.
Cissie Austin, 79, puts up the display every year and has become quite the draw for parents with young children, who visit her home on Kingsland Court, Royston, for a glimpse.
The thieves, who were caught on CCTV, struck early last Monday at around 1.45am.
“I only put the lights up for the kids really, so it was very disappointing when I noticed that some had been stolen.
“They’ve cut through wires - it’s lucky that they didn’t electrocute themselves.
“You just don’t expect something like this to happen. Where’s the Christmas spirit?”
