AN ARCHAEOLOGICAL firm has been brought in after ancient remains were uncovered during works to create a car park in Hoyland town centre.
Wessex Archaeology, which has worked on Channel Four’s Time Team, is examining the remains, believed to be a 17th or 18th century wall, which was revealed by workers for Resilienti who were digging down to create a drain.
A full map and recording of the area is required before Resilienti, which is carrying out the work for the council, can progress with building works.
