URGENT action is being taken to replace two school buses run by Tates Travel which ceased trading this week.

The Barugh Green-based firm - which provided school bus services 483 and 451 to Holy Trinity school at Athersley South - announced its collapse on Monday and ceased trading on Tuesday.

South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive said it is taking urgent action, together with Barnsley Council and local bus operators, to put alternative services in place for pupils returning to school on Monday after half-term.

Regular service updates and alternative travel information for passengers who previously used Tates Travel is available on a dedicated webpage at travelsouthyorkshire.com, via Traveline on 01709 515151 and on Twitter @TSYalerts.
