A FLORIST has been slapped with a £50 parking fine - for parking in front of her own shop.
Sarah Haines runs Orchids Flowers on Old Doncaster Road, Barnsley, which has council-owned pay and display on-street parking, costing 70p for up to one hour or £1.40 up to two hours.
On Monday morning Sarah was busy loading her van with deliveries in front of the shop when she stepped out to find an enforcement officer had issued her with a £50 fine for parking without a ticket, reduced to £25 if she pays it within 14 days.
Sarah, 33, said: “I had brought the van from round the back. It usually takes about five minutes to load it up and everything was ready and the side door was open and you’d realise we were loading.”
