BARNSLEY College has done a U-turn by scrapping parking charges at Honeywell campus following a storm of protest from residents and students.
The college imposed parking charges earlier this month causing students to park on streets in the surrounding area.
Last week as tensions rose a sign warning that parked cars would be vandalised was put up by residents.
Cars were also ‘ticketed’, with warnings which read: “This is not a car park.
“Don’t leave this car here again. Your registration number has been recorded.”
