IT’S one of the best sporting complexes of its type in the country and it’s right here in Barnsley - but it is being targeted by vandals.
The 5ives Sports Club complex in Hunningley Lane, Kendray, boasts six five-a-side pitches and two seven-a-side pitches installed in August at a cost of £135,000.
In recent months the complex has suffered repeated attacks of vandalism.
Fences and gates have been damaged, rebound boards smashed beyond repair, goal nets shredded to pieces, parts of the turf peeled back, doors torn from their hinges.
