COURAGEOUS shopkeeper Julie Youel was back behind the counter just FOUR days after being slashed across the face with a razor-edged knife at work.

The brave businesswoman, who owns and has run Jay’s convenience store for 30 years, sustained a nasty wound to her face measuring about ten centimetres during an alleged attempted robbery on Friday afternoon.

She underwent surgery to have her right cheek stitched back together by a specialist at Sheffield Hallam hospital.

Police launched an investigation after the alleged attack and attempted robbery and made two arrests.

Julie, 55, told the Chronicle she had no choice but to go back to work at her Agnes Road shop on Tuesday as she has ‘bills to pay’ and can’t afford not to be there.
