A CAMPAIGN to install a set of goalposts for a village’s children has proven to be a success.
Shafton’s Les Holt, 66, and 73-year-old Richard Swaby embarked on a mission to improve the field on The Green and had the posts installed on Monday afternoon after Les approached Brent Richards, of Premier Engineering, who donated the steel frames free.
“It was potentially dangerous before as footballs always flew across the road,” he said. “The company has been brilliant and I’d like to thank Brent and his team for making it possible.
“Kids have been making full use of them all week and it’s great to see.”
