AN ESCAPED European eagle owl is safely back at home after a ‘virtual search party’ was dispatched via Facebook.
Hundreds of people shared Deanni Rayner’s post on Facebook last week appealing for people to keep their eyes peeled for Ellie the owl - the appeal featured in the Chronicle too.
She’d gone missing from Deanni’s dad Dean’s garden on Braithwaite Street, Mapplewell, but was found last Friday asleep in a back garden at Staincross.
