BARNSLEY FC coach Mark Burton is embarking on a charity day of golf in memory of a former academy coach.
Mark, known as ‘Bunny’, will play four rounds in one day in order to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The mammoth session is being done to raise money in the memory of Hoyland-raised coach Paul Shirtliff, who died in 2009 aged just 46 from cancer.
Paul, the brother of former Reds’ player Peter Shirtliff, had a successful time in non-league football, notably with Frickley before he coached the likes of John Stones in the Oakwell academy over a decade.
