THE FIRST in a series of short films promoting Barnsley as the birthplace of missionary James Hudson Taylor has hit the internet.
It is one of about 12 videos created by Mary Lui and aims to attract Chinese investors from around the world to spend money in the town.
They will be used to promote Barnsley as a tourist attraction and show off attractions such as the James Hudson Taylor Heritage Trail.
Hudson Taylor was a 19th century missionary who moved from Barnsley to China in 1854 where he founded the China Inland Mission and adopted a Chinese way of life. He is credited with taking Christianity to China and is revered by millions of people there.
