A YOUNG Barnsley woman is taking on the world’s biggest half marathon to raise money for Heart Research UK following the sudden death of her 15-year-old cousin.

Sheldon Ridley will take part in the Great North Run on September 11 in memory of Benjamin Holmes, who died in 2008 from suspected Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS).

Sheldon, 22, of Great Broad Ing, Redbrook, wanted to help raise awareness and to fund the charity’s pioneering research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease.
