A CHARITY strawberry tea will be held for the last time next week unless new volunteers can be found.
The Mapplewell and Staincross committee of the NSPCC has held the annual event for decades but organiser and secretary of 30 years Shirley Montague is retiring.
She said: “I am the youngest committee member at 63. I can get people to come and help on the day but it’s the organising the event because I have been ill.
“It’s a shame because it raises quite a lot of money but all I can try to do is the little things.”
Anyone interested in helping the NSPCC should contact Shirley on 383981. This year's strawberry tea will be held in Staincross Methodist Church, on Thursday from 3pm to 5pm.
