ANTISOCIAL behaviour is being pushed out of Barnsley town centre and into residential streets in the wake of new order being introduced to tackle yobbish antics, concerned residents have said.
A public space protection order was put in place in the town centre and outlying areas in March as part of major crackdown by Barnsley Council and the police following a spike in antisocial behaviour.
Incidents included urinating and defecating in the street, intimidating and verbally abusing shop and businesses staff, open drug dealing and taking, shouting, swearing and fighting.
Since it was introduced to clean up prolific hot spots such as Peel Square in the town centre, there has been a reduction in the number of incidents reported.
But not everyone is happy.
