A DEVASTATED Scottish couple have offered a £5,000 reward for information leading to the safe return of their prized £40,000 motor home, which was stolen just hours before they were due to trade it in for a new one in Barnsley.
Robert and Sheila Elder had ordered a new £75,000 motor home from Oakwell Motor Homes on Pontefract Road and on Monday morning were due to trade in their three-year-old vehicle which they had purchased new with money left to them when Sheila’s parents died.
They were staying at Premier Inn Dearne Valley on Sunday night and had parked it in the car park there, but when they awoke in the morning it had gone.
“I’m absolutely devastated,” said Sheila, 59, of West Lothian. “I just cannot believe the sort of low-life scum who are walking about sometimes.”
