TEENAGER Alex Burrows has swapped school books for spanners and spark plugs.
While other girls her age are trying their hand at hairdressing or working in clothes shops, the Edward Sheerien pupil has chosen to spend her two week Trident work experience placement in a motorbike shop.
She has completed her first week at George Ward's, on Doncaster Road, Barnsley, where she has been fitting parts in the workshop and selling parts and spares.
Alex, 15, of Laxton Road, Athersley organised the placement herself and isn’t phased by working in a male dominated environment.
