IS this the oldest Christmas tree in Barnsley?
The tree belongs to Terry Wright who believes it is about 80-years-old.
It was passed down to him by his parents Cora and Harry, who used it at their home in Dillington Square, Worsbrough Common, when their children were very young, and Terry himself has had it for 30-odd years.
Terry is 73, and his brother Harry is 84, and they remember it from when they were children. He said it brings back some ‘tremendous’ memories.
Terry, of Mayfield, Monk Bretton, puts the tree up almost every year and trims it with his own decorations.
