VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help boost wildlife at a reclaimed former coal mining site in Grimethorpe.
New Park Springs, off Clayburn Road, was recently taken over by land charity The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) on a ten-year contract after it was appointed by the Land Trust.
The habitat, which features wetlands and meadows, now supports a wide range of wildlife including buzzards, several species of owl and song birds - and more than 3,000 trees are set to be planted in January.
