A SHAFTON resident has urged police to consider carrying out speed checks on main roads in Shafton.
Vehicles are travelling at speeds of up to 60mph on High Street and Dog Hill according to the resident, who did not wish to be named, and described the problem as an ‘accident waiting to happen’.
“I witness it daily and it’s unbelievable what they’re doing,” he said. “As soon as you pull on to Dog Hill there’s someone on your tail. I was driving last week and an idiot even overtook me where the central reservation is outside Sainsbury’s.
“It’s not on. There’s a 20mph restriction outside the school but they’re doing three times that by the time they’re on Dog Hill. You take your life into your own hands.”
