A GROUP which looks after Locke Park is hoping security cameras will put an end to vandalism which has seen the toilets trashed and plants and flowers torn up.
The Friends of Locke Park, a group of volunteers dedicated to making the park the best it can be, fear yobs that had vandalised the park toilets appear to have turned their attentions to the cafe area ripping out lavender plants from window boxes and leaving them strewn across the ground.
Malcolm Price, who has been a member of the group since it founded about 15 years ago, said the park has always been ‘plagued by idiots’ and while the battle against vandals can be disheartening, he said the group will not surrender to their bad behaviour.
