FOOD Standards Agency inspectors have cleared a Barnsley slaughterhouse of any serious breaches of animal welfare regulations following covert filming at their premises by a pressure group.

The FSA were contacted by an organisation called Animal Aid which had set up cameras at the premises of N Bramall and Sons in Oxspring on two occasions in the autumn of last year.

The company has been issued with written advice by the FSA as a result of the film footage supplied by Animal Aid and the inspectors’ visit.
