AN AMUSEMENT arcade in Barnsley town centre was badly damaged by fire during early on Wednesday.
Wheelie bins outside the Quicksilver Adult Gaming Centre in Eldon Street were reported to be on fire at 1.50am.
The fire then spread to the shop’s frontage.
Two fire crews from Barnsley and one from Cudworth stations were quickly at the scene and remained there until 4am.
The road was closed until around 7.30am.
The front entrance way of the shop was badly damaged.
Staff clearing up said the inside of the shop had not been affected.
The fire was one of two in the area which started within a few minutes of each other.
The second was in Burlington Arcade at 2.05am when a large industrial waste bin was reported to be on fire.
A fire crew from Cudworth Station attended and were at the scene for 15 minutes.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said both fires had been started deliberately.
