A BRAVE woman with terminal cancer will be sent on a ‘trip to remember’ thanks to hundreds of Barnsley people who raised more than £7,000 in her honour.

Ann Wood, 59, was diagnosed with lung cancer last July after visiting hospital for a separate complaint. She underwent chemotherapy treatment for eight months but has been told the cancer is incurable.

Ann’s best friend Julie Harrison, along with a team of helpers, wanted to do everything they could to keep Ann, of Athersley South, in good spirits and decided to raise money to send her away for a few days.

To do this, a Walk of Honour fundraiser was held at Langsett Reservoir for Ann and to raise cash for the Weston Park charity.
