A DOG that went missing while being looked after in Barnsley has been reunited with her owner after an army of ‘kind-hearted’ locals sprung into to action to help.
Luna, an 11-year-old tan staffy cross breed belongs to Haley Guinan, 30, from Huddersfield.
She was being looked after by Haley’s brother, Lee Machin, who was visiting a friend in Gawber when she disappeared at 10pm two weeks ago.
A huge social media campaign was mounted to find Luna who had been tied up outside Luigi’s takeaway on Redbrook Road, Gawber, when she managed to slip out of her collar and run off.
After days of searching, sleepless nights and stakeouts, an ecstatic Haley was reunited with Luna last Thursday who found by friends Francesca Nixon, Martin Nixon and Fern Phillips on an industrial estate off Pogmoor Road - less then a mile from where she disappeared.
