FORMER teacher Mary Froggett wonders how many of the children on a photograph of Kexborough JML School are still living locally.
One of her ex-pupils called at her home with the photograph taken at a Christmas party in December 1949.
“What I thought was interesting was that all the children will have had, or will be having, their 65th birthday before the end of this school year,” she said.
Mary remembers some of the names, but others elude her. She does, however, remember Tony Fisher, Brian Round, Wendy Clarkson, Elaine Mitchell, Maurice Foster, Roy Selwood, Mary Charlesworth, Dennis Fisher, Pat Thomas, Marilyn Driver, Glenys Evans, Barbara Bielby, Catherine Hill, Hazel Blackburn, Judith Smith, Hazel Summers, Gina Ibbotson, Maureen Thompson, David Winstanley and Elaine Walker.
Mary, her brother, Geoffrey Ives and cousin Stephen Brook, are on the back row.
“I think my brother and cousin came along to help,” said Mary.
