Barnsley have released ten players while admitting that out-of-contract stars Marley Watkins and Josh Scowen are 'exploring other options' after receiving offers from the Reds.
Barnsley have not take up the option to extend Ryan Williams' contract into a third year while they also released Aidy White, who has spent most of the season out injured, Lewin Nyatanga who has been on loan at Northampton, as well as youngsters Callum Evans, Matty Templeton, James Carvell, Jake Charles, Jack Cowgill, Omari Patrick and George Proctor.
Under 23s captain Jared Bird has been offered a new contract.
