LOCAL folk are being encouraged to show they love where they live by taking part in a volunteering month which has kicked off at Carlton Marsh.
The annual event, led by Love Where You Live Barnsley, will tie in with National Volunteers’ Week and give people the chance to get out in their community.
Coun Charlie Wraith joined the Friends of Carlton Marsh group to spruce up the nature reserve ahead of its Yorkshire in Bloom bid, having gained a gold award - the competition’s highest accolade - last year.
