BARNSLEY hospital has been shortlisted for the finals of this year's National Training Awards.
It has been recognised for a programme which teaches nurses and healthcare assistants to do advanced invasive procedures by practising on synthetic arms.
So far 103 members of the hospital's nursing staff have been trained up.
Also representing Barnsley are Kevin Richardson, who works in traffic management, and Lisa Earl, who supports people with learning disabilities.
Chairman of the Yorkshire and Humber judging panel John Robertshaw said: “The finalists are excellent examples of truly effective high quality training which has brought numerous benefits to the individuals, companies and communities.”
