A LOCAL land owner is campaigning for measures to be taken on a road which skirts his farm after a spate of accidents involving traffic.

Richard Elmhirst, who owns Round Green Deer Farm in Worsbrough, said every year at least two cars end up on their roofs after crashing over a wall onto his land.

The latest accident saw an Audi saloon car come off Round Green Road at 11pm last Friday.

Richard said the driver - a young man - is lucky to be alive.

He said: “An ambulance did attend but it appears the driver’s injuries were not serious.

“If you ask me he’s lucky to be alive.”
