POLICE officers who raided a house in Kendray seized £15,000 in cash which they suspect to be the proceeds of crime.
South Yorkshire Police applied for a continued detention of the seized cash at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The court was told officers discovered the cash, which is suspected to be linked to drug dealing and money laundering, in a house on Swanee Road.
Police were granted a 90 day order as they continue their investigations by analysing a number of mobile phones which were also seized.
The court was also told officers are also looking into a number of bank accounts which they believe have links to the address.
