Paul Heckingbottom has praised Barnsley club Shaw Lane AFC for reaching the FA Cup first round.
The Ducks, who play in the seventh tier of English football, beat National League side AFC Barrow 2-1 in the final qualifying round on Sunday. They were then drawn at home in the first round to League Two Mansfield Town on November 4 at 12.30pm. It will be live on BT Sport.
Heckingbotton said: "They have done great. It's a big, big thing for them and for the town. It will be interesting to see what Athersley Rec's ground is like in the FA Cup."It's a good story and, in the last few years when they have had a lot of money pumped into the team, I have known a lot of players who are friends of mine who have played for them. They've done really, really well."
Mansfield are 12th in League Two. They are managed by former Leeds boss Steve Evans while they have ex-Reds Danny Rose, Paul Digby, Jacob Mellis and Kane Hemmings in their squad. Heckingbottom, who played 13 games for Mansfield when they were a non-league club in the 2009/10 season, said: "It will be an interesting experience for Rosey and Diggers.
"It's set up for a giant-killing but add to that the fact that they are coming back to Barnsley and they might know players in the other team and fans in the stands. It will be a strange game for them. It could be a distraction."
Rose, who played 19 games for his hometown club before leaving in 2014, tweeted: "What a draw that is."
