PATRIOTIC fever gripped Grimethorpe residents ahead of England’s second World Cup match of 2006.
About 60 houses on Park Road have been trimmed with England flags in support of the lads in Germany.
Residents are even planning a street party at the end of the tournament regardless of how well England do.
Lee Patton, 33, said it started with one house putting flags up and it spiralled from there.
He added: “Next door but one started and it went from there and almost everybody joined in. The bottom of the street got monk on because we hadn’t told them.
“It goes from one end of the street right to the other and we didn’t think it would take off like this. We did it before a couple of years ago but it wasn’t on this scale.”
