THE mum of a tearaway who was one of the youngest ever to get an asbo has urged officials not to relax the terms of his order.

Lewis Green was ten when he was given the asbo earlier this year.

Now bosses at Barnsley's safer neighbourhood unit are considering softening their approach towards Lewis, now 11, because his behaviour has improved. But mum, Stephanie, of Cooper Road, Kexborough, says this could make things "turn nasty" again.

She said: "I would like to see his asbo stop the same apart from I'd like it if he was allowed to go and stop with a relative over night." The terms of his curfew currently do not allow that.

"If they change it, it could change his way of thinking. It's not the way he would be, it's if other lads get to find out they could provoke him and it could turn nasty. I'm happy things have gone like they have."

Lewis was given his asbo after terrorising his neighbourhood, drinking, smoking weed and threatening other kids with a knife.
