PLANS to spend £150,000 on a park described by the council as the worst in the borough is ‘too little too late’ according to residents.
The council were given the money in an agreement with developers and held meetings with the public to determine how it would be spent.
But some locals feel it has taken too long to draw up a plan and were angry the park was ever allowed to get in such a state.
Mandy and Stephen Fellows of Arundel View, said it was the council’s fault the park had gone to rack and ruin.
Stephen said: “The council should have done it years since. Years ago it was beautiful and there was no need for fences everywhere.
“They should have spent money cutting the grass and maintaining it. They’re just getting out of how bad they let it get by putting a few fences up.” Independent Coun Trevor Naylor welcomed the proposals but agreed money should have been invested in Jump years ago.
He said: “It is a welcome, there is no two ways about it but it has taken long enough. It will be next June before it will be up and running and to me that is appalling."
