A LUNDWOOD church made famous by a television documentary was put in danger as flames destroyed the neighbouring hall.
Firefighters battled for hours to protect St Mary Magdalene church and put out the blaze in the hall, which was started accidentally by roofers who had been working there.
The hall, which had undergone a recent renovation, was gutted and just a charred shell remains.
