BARNSLEY FC’s oldest supporter, Frank Moore, died on Monday, aged 102. Frank, a former Barnsley Chronicle correspondent for Stainborough and Dodworth, had followed the Reds since 1913 – and had held a season ticket for 80 years. Frank, who lived in Buxton, had first been taken to Oakwell by his father, Copley Moore, a former director and president of the club. He rarely missed a home game since that time, except in later years through ill health. He was chauffeured to games by his good friend Roy Pickles and also donated the Frank Moore Trophy to the club, to be given to the Academy Player of the Year.
