FOUR men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after another attempted cash machine break-in.
The latest in a string of incidents took place on King Street, Hoyland, at around 1.15am on Wednesday.
The cash machine was damaged during the attempted theft but no money was taken.
Men aged 30, 26, 21 and 20, all from Barnsley, remain in police custody, according to a spokesperson.
It comes after explosives were used in a cash machine raid at Mapplewell’s Co-op last week when a quantity of cash was taken.
A separate incident at Thurnscoe Post Office a week earlier also saw a JCB demolish the front of the building in order to steal the machine.
A police spokesman said: “We are not linking the incidents at present and would appeal for anyone who may have seen or heard anything that may relate to these incidents to call officers immediately.”
Anyone with information from any of the incidents should call 101.
